School Attendance

Dear Valley Families,

This year, our student handbook includes an attendance update: once a student has five consecutive excused absences or ten total excused absences, future absences will require a note from a healthcare provider. If your student reaches this point, you will receive a letter letting you know.

We share this information because regular school attendance is important for student learning and success. Research shows that missing school is linked to lower academic performance and increased difficulty keeping up with coursework. Our goal is to partner with you to support your student’s attendance and to help address any challenges that may be getting in the way.
