PART-TIME SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
(Position may be combined with additional duties to create a full-time role depending on the candidate)
MSAD 13 is seeking a collaborative and student-centered educational leader to serve as Part-Time Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2026. This position may be combined with other administrative, teaching, or district-level responsibilities to create a full-time opportunity, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and interests.
About MSAD 13
MSAD 13 is a small, rural school district located in the scenic communities of Bingham and Moscow, Maine, serving approximately 160 students in grades PreK–12. The district values close community relationships, personalized learning, and a strong commitment to student success.
Position Overview
The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the district and works collaboratively with the School Board, staff, students, families, and the community to ensure high-quality educational opportunities and sound fiscal management.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Provide instructional and organizational leadership for the district

Serve as advisor to the School Board and implement Board policies

Oversee district operations, budgeting, and compliance with regulations

Support and evaluate school administrators and staff
-
Foster positive relationships with families, community partners, and local organizations

Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications:
-
Maine Department of Education certification (or eligibility) as a Superintendent of Schools
-
Demonstrated leadership experience in education (small or rural district experience preferred)

Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
-
Commitment to meeting the unique needs of rural students and communities
Compensation:
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and based on part-time or combined full-time responsibilities.
