Dear Valley Families,
In Maine, public schools are required to offer training to students in middle or high school on the administration of naloxone hydrochloride nasal spray or other FDA approved overdose prevention nasal sprays. The Department of Education explains that this training will be offered as extracurricular instruction and should include initiating emergency response services, recognition of possible overdose, and actions to take to reverse it. Valley has partnered with Somerset Public Health, and they will be available at 356 Main Street in Bingham to offer this training to our students on Friday afternoons, free of charge. The flyer posted here will also be posted around the school to inform students about this training.
