​GEAR UP Coordinator

SAD #13/RSU #83 is seeking a qualified individual for a part-time position of Gear Up Coordinator.  The Gear Up Coordinator works closely with the Gear Up Regional Facilitator, the school counselor, and other school personnel to:

-Serve as liaison between GU Maine and the school in conjunction with the school guidance counselor.

-Manage the GU action plan in conjunction with the school guidance counselor.

-Ensure collection and recording of required data and financial information as related to GU activities.

-Assist the school counselor in arranging for college/career visits, guest speakers, etc.

-Create workshops and Manage the Gear Up Homework Café four days a week after school.

-Coordinate and chaperone field trips​ to colleges and career sites.

Knowledge/Skill Qualifications:

-Ability to establish and maintain personal and professional boundaries with students

-Self-starter-Has the initiative to work both independently and collaboratively

-Proficient with databases and office software applications

-Passionate about student success

-Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work concurrently with several individuals on an array of projects

-Able to maintain a strict code of confidentiality

Hours:

The Gear Up Coordinator will work 20 hours a week during the school year.  The Gear Up Coordinator will work 10 hours a week coordinating Gear Up activities and events in conjunction with the College Access Team and School Counselor(Gear Up Lead).  The other 10 hours will be managing and coordinating the Homework Café​​, and afterschool workspace for students in grades 5-12.

Pay:

Pay will be at the Ed Tech III level of $15-$17 dollars an hour.
